Bio
Victoria
Lyon is a true Renaissance woman with talent and experience
in fields ranging from art and design to business and
science. Victoria's interest in the fine and decorative
arts came from a family intimately involved with the
worlds of antiques, art, architecture and real estate.
These interests were heightened during many extended
travels abroad, as well as during her studies of fine
art at Smith College.
Victoria
joined Polaroid Corporation in 1976 where she became
Chief Photographer and Project Director for the famous
Room Size Camera, which produced extraordinary life-sized
art reproductions. She used this technology to develop
numerous exhibitions and documentary projects at museums
such as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Prado in
Madrid, Spain, and the Vatican Museums in Rome. Later
she became Director of Marketing, Sales and Public Relations
for the Polaroid Museum Replica business, introducing
the reproductions to museum retailers and into the residential
and contract furnishings markets.
Victoria
loves to use photography as a form of personal expression.
Her richly evocative fine art photographs have been
published and exhibited both here and abroad, and are
included in several important collections. After pursuing
further studies at the prestigious New York School of
Interior Design, in 1992 Victoria opened her own interior
design and decoration business. Since that time she
has renovated and decorated scores of homes and gardens
throughout Westchester and Fairfield counties.
Victoria’s
forte’ is her ability to move fluidly between
stylistic genres. She is equally at home creating a
bright, edgy contemporary, or a clean, tailored transitional
environment, or one featuring a sophisticated eclectic
mix of antique and modern furnishings. Her fluency in
the language of many different styles enables her to
confidently construct many varied and unique living
environments, which reflect the personal tastes and
style of their occupants. |
